Property Description

Bansko is the newest and the most rapidly developing ski resort in Bulgaria. 40 Million Euros have been invested to create facitilities including a new gondola, snow guns and an electronic ski pass system. The area is famous for its cuisine and various entertainment and offers a host of bars and nighclubs to suit all ages.

The appartment is located 300m from the town center and 1000m from the gondola for which there is a shuttle bus which runs regularly. You can hire ski equipment locally if you do not own your own and ski lockers are situated in the complex and are included in the price of your stay.

The cost of living is very cheap and your money will go alot further here than in other resorts in Europe.

Kitchen Facilities:

Fully equipped with all utensils, crockery and cutlery together with Fridge freezer, Microwave, Electric Oven and Hob, Kettle and Toaster. There is a also a dining area with a breakfast bar and 4 stools.

Outside:

Balcony overlooking the Pirin Mountains. There are also communial landscaped gardens.

Suitability

The Bansko mountain resort is situated in Southwestern Bulgaria at the foothills of one of the most beautiful Bulgarian mountains - Pirin, which is a National Reserve, included in the UNESCO World Heritage site. The skiing conditions are excellent with the Pirin Mountain having predominantly Alpine character with 3 peaks towering above 2900m. The slopes offer runs for all types of skier from novice to expert. There are 14 pistes totalling 65km including a 16km run plus cross country and off piste skiing. The Bansko Ski School is a very good one with ski classes in 5 difficulty levels and children above the age of 6 can attend ski school. Few countries can rival Bulgaria's superb mountain scenery. In summer hiking is popular and Bansko's natural beauty and the rich diversity of fauna and flora are a natural asset. Local companies can organise trips in the mountains e.g. white water rafting, canoeing or paragliding but for those who just want to wander around the old town and soak up the national heratige this is a perfect place with museums, local monuments and narrow cobbled streets where you can explore and buy souvenirs from local shops or just relax in one of the local bars or cafe's.

Local Activities

In addition to skiing this is a perfect place for Horse Riding and fishing. Bansko is host to a week long Jazz Festival, Bulgarian Folk Festival and many other events during the summer.
